Being Christmas time, it was almost impossible to find an Etsy shop open for my custom gender reveal confetti poppers! Luckily, I was able to come up with a super easy design I could actualize quickly! For this DIY, someone needs to know the gender of the baby! My husband and I were waaaaaay to eager to wait any longer then arriving home from my ultrasound appointment before
Fireside Pumpkin Carving Party + DIY Geode and Golden Nugget Halloween Costumes
My mom and her friends started a pumpkin carving party tradition when I was a little girl. The tradition was always so much fun! A pumpkin carving party is the perfect excuse to eat and drink all the yummy fall offerings, while creating your Halloween decor with friends and family! I usually have our pumpkin carving party inside, but our new home has a fabulous courtyard
Lunar Halloween Costumes
Our Halloween costumes this year originated from our huge Trip to the Moon birthday parties this past July! My son loves space and, honestly, my 1 year old daughter loves everything and anything! I decided to celebrate their birthdays with a lunar party inspired by the 1902 silent film Le Voyage dans la Lune. My husband and I watched the film together for the first time
Bullet Planters Before + After
One of our all time favorite purchases is our vintage style bullet planters! They were one of the first things my husband and I bought together for the first home we owned together in Minneapolis. We purchased them from Hip Haven in a soft lime green color. I can never keep things the same for too long, so after moving to Manhattan we painted them white and then to gold after
A Trip To the Moon Interactive Invite DIY
An invite not only communicates the logistics of a party, it entices your guests to attend! It is one of the most important components of your party. It is a glimpse into the memories your guests will be making and is (of course) the first impression of your event. Your invite needs to deliver your party’s details with some zip! Being the luckiest person on earth, I
“Pleated” Flag Bunting DIY
To recreate the patriotic feel (or as some say, the anti-imperialistic satire) of my family’s birthday party celebration’s inspiration, Le Voyage Dans La Lune (A Trip to the Moon), I wanted to sew a “pleated” flag bunting to hang on the food bar. I found and used a simple DIY from Corner of Main to determine my strategy (this being my first ever attempt at making a “pleated” flag bunting). I liked
Stellar Sun Party Prop
I absolutely needed a stellar sun prop for my galactic themed party! I really couldn’t find anything that was quite what I wanted, so I decided to go forward with (what I consider) a fun DIY! Plus, I love making my own party components to give my guests a unique and delightful experience. This huge sun will work great as decor or a prop for my photo wall! See below
Detailing Your Invite Envelopes
I have finally mailed out my custom invites for my July joint birthday party (baby, toddler + dad)! While designing the envelope, I researched my options for postage and addressing. There are so many exciting selections out there! Custom Postage Postage is obviously a functional necessity when mailing invites, but it can also be a key part of your invite design. For my birthday party invites, I really
Gold Covered Books
If you haven’t noticed on my Instagram and Facebook feeds, I have started gathering and assembling items for my family’s July birthday celebration! We have a lot of birthdays that month: dad, toddler and baby. Instead of three separate parties, we just have one big one. I am keeping the theme/concept of the party a secret for now. You might be able to get an
May Day Festivities
We had quite the exciting May Day celebration this morning! After pancakes, toddler and baby put on their floral crowns in preparation to deliver our May Baskets. Baby did not actually like the floral crown and refused to keep it on. I expected that to happen. I still got a few adorable pics! Toddler loved delivering the May Baskets and brought a lot of energy
