My family’s pumpkin carving party was always one of my favorite events growing up. Being creative and experimenting with new carving techniques among good company, delicious food and yummy drinks was the perfect way to kick of the year’s Halloween celebrations. Such a fun tradition to pass down to my children!
This year I designed a mysterious and simple centerpiece using the pumpkins we would carve. I wanted the space to feel as if we had uncovered a buried, forgotten, mysterious and slightly spooky pumpkin patch for our little party. My decor was simple, but you could really expand upon this idea by adding branches hanging above your table covered in moss and entwined in the pumpkins on the table. Perhaps a skull and other bones buried among the pumpkins, as well. My toddler was so excited to pluck a pumpkin from the mossy patch and wipe it clean. It was as if he had discovered a buried treasure… which is exactly how I feel when I scoop delicious pumpkin seeds out of pumpkins!
